Public Comment: OSTP’s Environmental Justice, Science, and Data Research Plan

In December 2023, EPIC led efforts to submit a joint public comment with several leading organizations working in and around environmental justice issues in response to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s (OSTP’s) 2023 request for information (RFI) on environmental justice, science, and data. Our recommendations elaborate the technical, policy, and community-engagement practices we believe will be key to realizing our national environmental justice goals. Our co-authors include:

  • Devashree Saha, Carla Walker, Rajat Shrestha, World Resources Institute

  • Manuel Salgado, Tali Natter, WE ACT for Environmental Justice

  • Amanda Dwelley, Beech Hill Research

  • Kristen Soares, Climate XChange

  • Idalmis Vaquero, Just Solutions

  • Monica Sanders, The Undivide Project

  • Grace Wickerson, Federation of American Scientists (FAS)

  • Bob Dean, Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT)

  • Catalina Gonzalez, Center for Progressive Reform

  • Katie Hoeberling, John Favini, Open Environmental Data Project (OEDP)
